Acceptable Use Policy
NayiHaat is for genuine small businesses. You may not list anything that is illegal to sell in India, anything our payment partners are not allowed to process, and anything that pretends to be somebody else's brand. Everything below applies to your product names, descriptions and photos alike.
Weapons & ammunition
Firearms and their parts, air guns, ammunition, switchblades and knuckle dusters, tasers, stun guns and pepper spray. Ordinary kitchen, craft and gardening tools are fine.
Narcotics & psychotropic substances
Anything covered by the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 — including cannabis in every form, and paraphernalia sold for taking it.
Tobacco & vaping products
Cigarettes, cigars, beedi, hookah and chewing tobacco such as gutkha, khaini and zarda. E-cigarettes, vapes and their refills are banned outright in India under the PECA Act, 2019.
Alcohol
Liquor, wine and beer. Alcohol sales are state-licensed and cannot be made over a website like this one. A colour or flavour name is not a listing and is not restricted.
Prescription medicines & steroids
Schedule H, H1 and X drugs, sexual-performance medication, sedatives and painkillers sold without a prescription, and anabolic steroids or bodybuilding products containing them.
Counterfeit & replica branded goods
"First copy", "master copy", "mirror copy", "dupe" or replica versions of another brand's products, and anything carrying a logo you are not licensed to use. Your own designs, inspired by anything you like, are always welcome.
Wildlife products
Ivory, shahtoosh, pangolin scales, rhino horn, tiger and leopard skin, sea-turtle shell and red sanders — species protected under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
Adult content & services
Pornography, sex toys and escort or companionship services. Obscene material is an offence under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Lottery, betting & gambling
Lottery tickets, satta and matka, sports betting, and casino chips or credits.
Fireworks & explosives
Firecrackers, gunpowder, detonators and any explosive material. Fireworks need an explosives licence and cannot be shipped by courier — diyas, candles and decorative lights are fine.
Forged documents & IDs
Fake Aadhaar, PAN, passports, driving licences, degrees and certificates, and services offering to produce them.
What happens if a listing breaks this policy
New and edited listings are screened automatically. A listing that looks like it breaks this policy is hidden from your store and your catalog feeds while a person reviews it — usually within a day. If it turns out to be fine, we put it back and it will not be flagged again. Repeat or serious violations mean your store is suspended, and we report illegal content to the authorities.
